eranmony blog

Blogs are everywhere. The humble, ubiquitous blog, like any other technology on the internet, is a powerful medium of expression and information dissemination. A blog, or web log, is a chronological organization of website content. Can a blog be used to earn money online? The answer is yes. However, you have to know how to do it right. That is critical, else you’ll just end up being a statistic among the thousands of other failures.
So how does a blog make money? By employing the power of quality content. And not just quality content. Lots and lots of quality, unique content. Learn how to write keyword rich content that will attract search engine attention.
A blog can only be successful if
1. It has enough content to draw in long tail traffic
2. It has good rankings for a few good short tail keywords
3. It is regularly added to in order to cumulatively build content to keep search engine attention focused and content growing for long tail traffic (1.)
So what’s the critical content quantity, and how do you ensure you have it?
Post Quantity and Traffic
Well, after researching many blogs, and analyzing their traffic sources and earnings, I have attempted to perform a quantitative analysis of the relationship of content to traffic and money.
A blog with 70 unique posts of about 200 words each (content that doesn’t exist elsewhere on the Internet) based on popular information that is searched in the search engines can drive about 600 visits a day through long tail traffic alone. A blog with 150 unique posts can drive about 1200 long tail visitors a day. Add to this short tail visits, and a blog with 150 unique posts should be getting close to 2000 visitors a day.
This is where the importance of quantity comes in. Multiply content to 5000 posts, and see where you’re heading.
